Kinetic and plasma effects of cosmic rays in the Galaxy

Cosmic ray pressure and streaming can produce essential effects in the interstellar medium. Cosmic ray pressure gradient may drive the Galactic wind outflow from the Galactic disk into
Galactic halo. MHD waves generated by cosmic ray streaming instability determine the scattering and transport of cosmic ray particles. The damping of these waves results in the gas heating in the Galactic halo. The pressure of accelerated particles also changes the velocity profile of supernova shocks. The streaming of energetic particles in the shock vicinity produces strong
instability and essential magnetic field amplification.
