UKIDSS-UDS survey : clustering properties of z>2 galaxies selected in the infrared

UKIDSS is the next generation near-infrared sky survey, and began in Spring 2005. Comprising 5 sub-surveys, it will take 7 years to complete and cover a wide range of areas and depths. I will present the first results from the deepest of these, the Ultra-Deep Survey (UDS) which aims to cover 0.8 sq degrees to a depth of K=23, H=24, J=25 (Vega). The key goals are to determine the epoch of spheroid formation and the growth of cosmic structure since z=3. From only the first few hours of data we have constructed an entirely unique data set, and have extracted the largest sample of red z>2 galaxies using J-K colour selection (in addition to many thousand classical EROs and BzKs). We derive the first measurements of the clustering and bias for the z>2 population, providing a new insight into the mass of the dark matter halos in which this galaxies reside. We compare the properties of those galaxies with objects selected using other photometrical methods but to be around the same redshift as EROs, BzKs, and LBGs.
