2006 runs

Summary of 2006 runs :

  • Summary of queue run 06BQ08 : 11 Dec. - 26 Dec.
    • A good run with no technical problems. Variable seeing during most of the run.
    • D1 observed for 7.6 hours with 1h in u*
    • D2 observed for 8.9 hours
  • Summary of queue run 06BQ07 : 13 Nov. - 27 Nov.
    • A good run with no technical problems. About 4 nights in total lost to clouds coverage or high IQ.
    • D1 observed for 9.8 hours
    • D4 observed for 5.0 hours with 2.6h in u*
    • D2 started for 2.2h.
  • Summary of queue run 06BQ05 : 10 Oct. - 31 Oct.
    • A hectic run strongly perturbed by a major earthquake on the Big Island on October 15. CFHT was partly damaged and out of run for one week, followed by a few more nights of clouds at the summit. Normal observations started again by October 23. The rest of the run was partly interrupted by periods of high humidity or clouds with only a few clear nights.
    • D1 observed for 9.1 hours
    • D4 observed for 7.8 hours with 2 hours spent in u*.
  • Summary of queue run 06BQ03 : 13 Sep. - 28 Sep.
    • A rather good run with no technical problems. About 5 nights in total lost to clouds coverage or high humidity at the summit, with one snow fall in the middle of the run !
    • D1 observed for 6.4 hours
    • D4 observed for 6.7 hours
    • No u* observations.
  • Summary of queue run 06BQ01 : 15 Aug. - 01 Sep.
    • A good run with no technical problems. About 4 nights in total lost to clouds coverage or high humidity at the summit.
    • D1 observed for 10.4 hours
    • D4 observed for 10.5 hours
    • No u* observations done !
  • Observations of D3 are closed (Aug. 1, 2006). See the D3 web page for details
  • Summary of queue run 06AQ11 : 18 Jul - 01 Aug.
    • Again an average run, but with no technical problems. About 6 nights in total lost to variable seeing, clouds coverage or high humidity at the summit.
    • D3 observed in 3 filters for 3.6 hours.
    • D4 observed in 4 filters (no u*) for 6.3 hours.
    • D1 started (1h in 3 filters).
  • Summary of queue run 06AQ09 : 19 Jun - 05 Jul.
    • An average run with 1/2 night lost to technical problems and about 6 nights lost to weather (bad seeing or clouds coverage).
    • D3 observed in 5 filters for 5.8 hours.
    • D4 observed in 3 filters for 2.4 hours.
  • Observations of D2 are closed (Jun. 15, 2006). See the D2 web page for details 
  • Summary of queue run 06AQ08 : 19 May - 07 Jun.
    • A very good run (summertime !), except for some time lost to technical problems (guiding system and filter jukebox). About 3 nights lost in total.
    • D2 observed in 3 filters for 2.2 hours [end of observations]
    • D3 observed in 5 filters for 12.5 hours, with two sequences in u*
    • D4 observed in r’ and i’ for 1.4 hour [beginning of observations]
  • Summary of queue run 06AQ06 : 21 Apr. - 05 May
    • A rather good run. No technical problems, variable transparency during the first part of the run. Good seeing most of the time.
    • D2 observed in 4 filters for 8.2 hours.
    • D3 observed in 4 filters for 8.1 hours
  • Summary of queue run 06AQ04 : 22 Mar. - 04 Apr.
    • No data. Run entirely lost to weather !

  • Summary of queue run 06AQ02 : 17 Feb. - 07 Mar.
    • Second bad run of the winter, with again a lot of time lost to weather. Less than 4 nights available for decent observations. Only a few hours taken for the CFHTLS-Deep
    • D2 observed in 4 filters for 3.5 hours.
    • D3 observed in 4 filters for 3.4 hours

  • Observations of D1 are closed (Jan. 15, 2006). See the D1 web page for details

  • Summary of queue runs 05BQ13 & 06AQ01 : 20 Jan. - 06 Feb.
    • A bad run with a lot of time lost to weather. Only 5 nights available for decent observations. Only a few hours taken for the CFHTLS-Deep
    • D1 observed in 3 filters for a total of 2 hours
    • D2 observed in 3 filters for 3.1 hours.
    • D3 observed in 3 filters for 2.2 hours

  • Summary of queue run 05BQ11 : 21 Dec. - 07 Jan.
    • A fabulous run, with only a few hours lost to bad seeing ! no bad conditions, no technical problems. A validation rate among the highest ever obtained with MegaCam. A lot of good data for CFHTLS.
    • D1 observed in 4 filters for a total of 7.3 hours
    • D2 observed in 4 filters for 9.2 hours.
    • D3 observed in 4 filters for 2.7 hours (beginning of observability)
