Current IRAM developments and the NOEMA project

The latest instrumental upgrades and developments at IRAM will have a very important impact on the capability of both, the IRAM 30m telescope and the PdB Interferometer. The different fields of progress will be presented and its implications on millimeter astronmy will be discussed. Many of the current technological developments are preparing the way for the proposed major extention of the PdBI (NOEMA). The project will be presented in detail and the role this instrument will play in the future will be outlined.
