Cosmological implications of inter-galactic dust extinction

Several observations suggest the presence of metal particles in the Intergalactic Medium, whether in the form of gas or dust this still remains not known, however if dust grains are present in the IGM this has number of important cosmological implications, especially in terms of systematic bias effects on the cosmological parameter inference from future SN searches and large scale structure surveys. In this talk I will present a general overview of the subject and discuss the issues that need to be addressed for future precision cosmology.
